How to select a consultant plastic surgeon
- You may wish to speak to our team in the plastic surgery department, who have experience in helping people who are considering having cosmetic surgery. They will be happy to answer your questions.
- Our customer service advisers can provide you with a choice of consultant plastic surgeons. All plastic surgeons who carry out cosmetic surgery have satisfied our stringent practising privileges criteria, and appear on the specialist register of the General Medical Council.
- Speak to your family doctor, as he or she will refer you to a qualified plastic surgeon at One Healthcare.
- Talk to your friends - those who have had cosmetic surgery may be able to recommend a surgeon.
Sensitive and confidential support
Our advisors, nurses, surgeons and anaesthetists are chosen not just for their professional skills and experience but also for their personal qualities.
From your first appointment right through to the end of your treatment, they will be available to provide the advice and support you need at any time - you can even phone after you've left hospital, if you want reassurance.
All our staff are committed to making everything as easy as possible for you throughout your stay and at One Healthcare you have the added comfort of knowing we have doctors available 24 hours a day.
Your first appointment
At your first consultation, you'll meet the consultant surgeon who will perform your cosmetic procedure and he or she will take the time to understand your needs and wishes.
You will be able to discuss the results you can realistically expect and the risks that may be associated with your surgery. You will be told how long you should allow for recovery and if you can expect any scarring.
We want you to feel confident and relaxed with your consultant so that you can establish a relationship of mutual trust and feel free to ask questions at any stage of your treatment.
Comfort and convenience
We will arrange your first out-patient consultation with a surgeon as soon as possible, at a time that fits in with your priorities and commitments.
On the day you come in for your operation, you'll be shown to your own private room, with an en-suite bathroom, satellite television, radio and telephone. Visiting hours are flexible and you can look forward to a varied, healthy menu.
